SKYTTE, VERA ELIZABETH (nee Howard)

Long time Haney resident passed away peacefully at RMH with family by her side. Vera's parents, Alfred and Elizabeth Howard, moved their family from Port Coquitlam to Haney in the early 1920's. Vera spent her entire life here. Predeceased by husband, Toivi, and brothers Alfred and Jim. Lovingly missed by daughter Sheila & son-in-law Don Dunaway; grandchildren Shannon (Jonas Stahr), Chris (Laura) and Stu; great-grandchildren Cassidy & Derek: sister Pat, brothers Bill (Eileen) & Bob (Evelyn) Howard; many nieces & nephews and friends; and best pal for 82 years, Dot Desjardins. Vera was a generous soul who lived by the Golden Rule. She was never too busy to help someone in need. She loved music & singing, animals and gardening. The family thanks Dr. Chapman, nursing staff on 2W & TCU; Dr. Kazemi, nursing staff on 3N at RCH; and friends at Rosewood Cottage.
Friends and relatives are invited to a gathering on Feb 16 from 2-4pm at Fraserview Village Centre at 22610-116th Ave, Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers remember Vera with a random act of kindness.
