March 24, 1935 - November 10, 2021
Wanda Lucyna Beaulieu, born March 24, 1935 in Onoway Alberta, died peacefully in the arms of her family on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at her home in Whonnock, BC.
Wanda will be missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Morena (Dom), Tanya (Mike), Mario (Nancy), Collette (Paul); and her eight beloved grandchildren Lucy (Luke), Hannah, Ruby, Phaedra, Jada, Reid, Scarlet, and Elijah.
She leaves behind brothers Stan Kozyra, John (Vera) Kozyra, brother-in-law Roger Beaulieu, and an abundance of cherished nieces and nephews both in Saskatchewan and Alberta. Wanda was predeceased by her husband Raymond Beaulieu, as well as her parents Francis and Adam Kozyra, and siblings Christina and George.
Born and raised in Onoway, Alberta, Wanda bravely headed west over the mountains with her husband Ray and four young children in 1967 to settle in the land of milk and honey in Whonnock, BC. Convinced she was in the promised-land by the abundance of fruit and the long growing season, Wanda put down deep enduring roots.
Here she weathered the loss of her dear husband Ray in 1976, raised her four children, embraced the birth of eight grandchildren and nurtured so many deep and lasting friendships that became family. Wanda's hospitality was legendary, and her home-cooking simply grand. We mourn our loss, and celebrate a beautiful life.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church, Maple Ridge on Friday, November 19 at 1pm. Reception to follow at Whonnock Community Hall 3-6pm
