KILAND, Wilda Pauline

November 11, 1925 - June 14, 2016

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on June 14, 2016 of our beloved Mother, Wilda Pauline Kiland. She passed away quietly with her children by her bedside in Powell River, BC at the age of 90.

Mom was born and raised on the Haughton farm outside of Carnduff, Saskatchewan. Upon graduation she moved to BC.

Mom met the love of her life and married Gordon Kiland in Youbou, BC. The romance was cut short as Gordon passed away in December 1959. Mom showed what a strong woman she was by raising her four children on her own. She leaves behind a sister Lorraine (Stewart), a son, Warren (Doriana), daughters Linda, Laura (Bruce) and Marla, grandchildren Joel (Shelly), Nick (Haley), Alia (Chuck), Kelsey (Eder), Jenna (Shane), Chanel, Madison, great-grandchildren Braiden, Logan, Sophie and many more family and friends scattered around the country who loved and adored her. Mom spent most of her working career in the office at BCFP Hammond, until she retired. In her spare time and after retirement, Mom participated in three square dance groups, was Treasure for the Langley computer club and loved to play in the garden.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 13th at 2:00 pm in the Golden Ears United Church at 22165 Dewdney Truck Road, Maple Ridge. Reception to follow.
