Adding tolls to Pitt River Bridge would be ‘insane’

For Maple Ridge Mayor Ernie Daykin to suggest that the Pitt River Bridge be tolled is totally irresponsible.

Must he be reminded that he was elected by the people for the people?

It is ludicrous to suggest that the only road westbound to the neighbouring communities be tolled, and he should resign as mayor for even contemplating it.

We already have our only means of southbound traffic from our municipality being heavily tolled, and another burden would be insane.

I liken it to having every single road between Burnaby/Vancouver or Surrey/Delta/Langley be tolled, for example.

If he had made that comment before the last election, I am sure that he would have been an ‘also-ran.’
