Bong ad in Pitt Meadows: Did they ruin their brains?

Tobacco and drug paraphernalia advertising is banned in Canada.

Re: Maybe most people were OK with Pitt Meadows bong billboard (Letters, Aug. 22).

Whether or not people liked the bong ad is irrelevant.

Tobacco and drug paraphernalia advertising is banned in Canada.

The bong company and the people who created the ad would have known that unless they ruined their brains using their product.

Research shows many people are influenced by advertising, and so these types of ads are banned because most people don’t want their friends and family falling victim to the negative effects of drugs and tobacco.

Instead of advertising this type of product, why not display the many worthwhile activities a person can do with their time rather than being so bored as to be seeking a stupefied state.
