Congrats, Maple Ridge, natural light makes sense

I found the pool area to be very relaxing without the bright lights and there was lots of natural light.

Editor, The News:

As I do daily, I went to the Leisure Centre for my workout. When I walked in, I noticed the reception area did not have the lights on. There was lots of nature light.

I asked why the lights were off and the lovely ladies in reception showed me a sign where Maple Ridge has declared June 21 (the longest day of the year) as Celebrate Light Day, encouraging people to not use artificial light if natural light is adequate.

I found the pool area to be very relaxing without the bright lights and there was lots of natural light coming through the plentiful windows.

Congratulations, Maple Ridge, on this creative initiative. This should be standard practice on bright days, it only makes sense.
