Council a ‘runaway vessel’

Re: Councillors ‘ambush’ rookie Bell (The News, July 26)

Editor, The News:

I had no idea that council has now started performing Vaudeville acts in public.

I thought council’s job was to run a business meeting, adhering to all rules and regulation of Parliamentary proceedure.

If the councillors put as much efforts into their jobs as they did  their theatrical performances, we might get some exceptional results that benefit the public.

Council meetings of late  do not have the busines-like feel that council should project, and there does not seem to be a captain at the helm of this runaway vessel.

Maybe it is time to bring in the inspector of mucipialities and let a provincial representative  get to the bottom of this ongoing dispute.
