I agree that community-based programs and facilities are better than large facilities such as Riverview.

Re: Warehousing mentally ill is cruel (Sidewinder, Sept. 6).

Mr. Sandy Macdougall’s article has a catchy title.

I agree that community-based programs and facilities are better than large facilities such as Riverview.

I wonder which is more cruel, though  – letting the mentally ill wander on the streets until small facilities are built, or placing them in Riverview?

The way we run the facility is more important than size and age of the buildings.

The past dark days don’t hint at future dark days, as we have the nature to learn from the past.
