Letter: Borrow carefully

Do we really need debt? Why can we not manage a budget to save? It is better to save money if you save and use your own.

We elect you to manage and govern our town, not to put us in debt and financial chaos. Anybody can sign on the dotted line. It takes a real citizen to manage what we have now and so that we can afford a future which is within our means and what we can afford now.

Our tax money should be spent wisely and spent on things to improve our whole town. The sports fields, pool and hockey arena can be managed better to be used by all and we can see if a new building can be built later.

Time is a great thing. It proves itself and can save a lot of money. If not, interest payments are involved. The last thing we need is our tax money going out the window on interest.

A citizen’s management committee wouldn’t hurt. You are spending money too fast and it will cost us one day.

Think before you sign. Rome was not built in a day. Why should Haney?
