A local letter writer is pleased with the treatment for his child at Ridge Meadows Hospital. (The News files)

Dear Editor,

I know a lot of people complain about the Emergency Room experience at Ridge Meadows Hospital, but I would like to share my own experience.

I had to take my seven-year-old to the hospital at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, because he had been vomiting through the evening. We were in and out in two hours. Everyone was so kind and attentive– from the registration desk to the physician who attended to us. I did express my gratitude to them, but wanted to share with this with the community.

I have spent countless hours at RCH, VGH, Surrey Memorial and St. Paul’s. Surrey Memorial was a shock to me! My best friend was in the hallway in pain and was ignored for 24 hours!

Maybe because I’ve had these experiences, I have a greater appreciation for RMH staff. Nurses and doctors have a difficult job. I think we should cut them some slack.

God bless you all at RMH. You are a blessing to our community.

Kem Gaul, Maple Ridge
