LETTER: ‘Homeless campers as pawns’

Wasn’t there only 84 at Maple Ridge camp?

Editor, The News:

Re: Tent city advocates say government too tough.

Ivan Drury is nothing more than a political activist who promotes his anti-capitalist, anti-colonial views by using the homeless campers as pawns.

If he actually spent his efforts on actually helping people instead of organizing tent cities, people may actually listen to him, and people may get the help they need.

In my opinion, Mr. Drury is a man whose time has come and gone. He gets way too much media coverage.

Also, Listen Chen, is she not the one in the “collapsed talks” with the fire chief, and who said there were no pallets under tents, but clearly in the video, there was?

I simply don’t trust any of them. Fifty-five units of modulars and we need 200?

But wasn’t there only 84ish in 2015?

How many have we housed since then?
