LETTER: Keep protests peaceful and legal, please

Message for a convicted felon President Trump – Canada not for sale

Dear Editor,

Re: Canadians boycott, and protest at Telsa’s showrooms over convicted felon President [Donald] Trump’s yearning to takeover Canada, and make it the United States 51st state.

Convicted felon President Trump’s tariffs and tolls have become routine and so has Trump’s desire to annex Canada.

Convicted felon President Trump has support from Elon Musk, who appears to be Trump’s unelected right arm man, and convicted felon President Trump’s, in a sense, personal bank.

Canada’s politicians have all said that Canada will never become the 51st state of the United States, and so has many Canadians.

One way of making sure Canada doesn’t become the 51st state of the United States is by bankrupting Musk via boycotting his Tesla showrooms, and by refusing to buy Telsa vehicles, and Tesla stocks.

In Canada, people have a constitutional right, via section 2 of the Charter, to “freedom of conscience, and religion, freedom of thought, belief, opinion, and expression, freedom of peaceful assembly and freedom of association,” to gather outside Tesla showrooms, and to shout slogans and wave anti-Musk and/or anti-Trump signs.

Canadians across provinces have been exercising their constitutional right to protest against Elon Musk using his massive wealth to aid convicted felon President Trump in trying to conquer Canada.

I am an immense believer in the citizens of Maple Ridge and other Canadians in exercising their Charter right to hold boycotts and peaceful protests.

However, when doing so it was reported some Canadians violated the law. Vancouver Police Department claims that since convicted felon President Trump’s inauguration the following crimes were committed: "hateful words and symbols spray painted on buildings, eggs thrown cars, and windshields smashed at dealerships, and charging stations."

In my opinion, it is acceptable to participate in peaceful, law-abiding protests. But, not all Canadians did that.

Some Canadians committed the prior crimes, which means they could face the following charges: assault, trespass, breach of the peace, vandalism, causing a disturbance, and mischief.

Believe me Elon Musk and convicted felon President Donald Trump are not worth getting a criminal record, police record, and court record over.

In Canada “no one is above the rule of law.”

So, please keep that in mind when participating, in boycotts and peaceful protests, which expresses your hunger to keep Canada a sovereign state.

Finally, this message is for convicted felon President Donald Trump: Canada is not for sale—at any price.
