LETTER: Piles of manure unappealing to Pitt Meadows visitors

Proud of his community, but not of mounds of compost by the bridge

Dear Editor,

I moved to Pitt Meadows in 1976, and have seen a lot of changes take place over 40 years – most of which are good.

But the one change that disturbs me the most is: The first thing people coming to our city from west is the multiple piles of rotting, steaming, stinking, seagull-covered piles of compost at the east end of Pitt River Bridge.

It covers our beautiful brick and bronze sign, paid with taxpayers money, welcoming people to the city of natural beauty.

This is a black eye on our community.

Can't believe council approved it.

Bob McKee, Pitt Meadows
