Editor, The News:

Maple Ridge Mayor Nicole Read, in follow up to my email of May 3 – which not one single member of Maple Ridge council responded to – since the Maple Ridge tent city started, a ton of grief has been brought to our building and the taxpaying, voting residents who live here.

We have experienced an increase in the unpleasant problems of unwanted and unwelcome people using our property for washroom purposes, openly doing drugs, and disposal of their garbage.

We are finding more transient people on our property who cause safety concerns for residents, and we are experiencing an increase in thefts, vandalism, and property damage.

Other than remaining largely silent or blowing hot air, what are you doing about this problem?

We, taxpayers, are fed up. Why do our rights and wishes take a back seat to the ‘homeless’?

As president of our strata corporation, I would like to invite you to address our owners and residents, and tell us about how you and your council plan to respect our wishes, rights, and property, and what you will be doing about this problem?

Included is a copy of an announcement posted in our building. How would you feel if you needed to post that on your front door?
