Maybe Dan Ruimy was successful in the federal election because the constituents of Pitt Meadows-Maple Ridge deemed him to be the most suitable candidate. All elected officials are at one point new to their position and have a steep learning curve. Perhaps it would have been more appropriate to honor the wishes of the citizens and wish Mr .Ruimy much success in his new position.
