Shame on you Maple Ridge bylaws dept.

The bylaws department warned the hospice thrift store to remove a rented mobile sign after 30 days.

Re: Why getting rid of all signs? (Letters, April 22).

I was appalled by the recent article describing the targeting of Ridge Meadows Hospice Society’s  thrift store.

Many such organizations are operated by volunteers who contribute countless hours to help our community be a better and more caring place.

Our bylaw department seems to have the attitude that they have the right to harass our volunteers.

They certainly do not – and should not continue down this road!

Remember, bullies always pick their fights with someone they think they can bully.

We, as a society and a community, do not accept or condone bullying in any form. Shame on you, Maple Ridge bylaws department!

As a taxpayer, I would ask Maple Ridge council to review the bylaws department’s mandate to help them better understand what really makes a strong, caring and vibrant community. They have obviously lost sight of this concept.
