Truckers record their time, why not council?

Public deserves to know how politicians spend their time

Re: Time to review politicians’ pay, (The News, Aug. 17).

Well George, I couldn’t agree more with you. If truckers can  keep a detailed log-book of their every move, on-duty, off-duty, and locations for each, I see no reason why council and mayor should not do the same. With the salaries, they have voted for themselves, that’s not asking for too much. Let the public be the watchdog.

I think this would be an excellent start, after they graciously accepted a 53-per -cent pay raise, and just voted themselves a 13-per-cent raise over two years.

Exactly what are the qualifications for council and mayor positions, with our mayor now pulling in more than $100,000 a year, plus perks? Yes, a detailed log-book for him and his council, immediately.
