Athletes in Kind has a new community event called OktoberFAST.
This is a charity run with 5-km and 10-km distances, and a Kid’s Fun Run that takes place on on Sunday, Oct. 2, with an 8:30 a.m. start from Osprey Village in Pitt Meadows.
The cause is the same as the long established Canada Day Charity 8-km event – to help families who are struggling financially while their child is in cancer treatment. That event started in 2005, and has raised $182,000.
The celebration starts at the finish line and the post run party continues with a barbecue at Foamers’ Folly.
