The Ridge Meadows Rustlers finally defeated the Cloverdale Colts, and did so when it mattered most.
The Ridge atom A2 hockey team had tied five of its previous six meetings with Cloverdale this season and lost once, but downed the Colts 5-2 last week to win the President’s series final in Tier 2.
Josh Williams and Logan Kurki each scored twice in the banner game. Jakob McQuillin also scored for the Rustlers, who began the season in Tier 3.
Dallas Teichrob, Nick Thomson and Joshua Walls had assists, while Nathan Ollman earned the win in net.
Forwards Kyle Jansson, Gavin Bruce, Taylor Lewis and Alexis Kahlert also played well, as did defensemen Dylan Ford, Cody Hough, Cameron Plamondon, Zach Wismer and Jacob Young.
Jeffrey Sunshine is the team’s other goalie and played well throughout the season.
