The Ridge Meadows Barracudas captured a silver in the peewee A division of the Hayley Wickenheiser girls’ hockey tournament in Burnaby last weekend.

Led by the exceptional goaltending of Madison Fox, the team fought its way to the final, only to lose 3-1 to the Vancouver Angels.

Lynnea Lindsay was named MVP for the Barracudas in that game.

The final was a rematch of the Barracudas opening game of the tourney, when they lost 4-3.

Mykhaela Johnson was MVP of that game.

In their second match, the Ridge squad bounced back to topple North Shore 3-2.  Fox won MVP.

The team then doubled the Prince George Cougars 4-2, with Katrina Ratner taking team honours.

The semi-finals saw the Barracudas and Cougars play again. Ridge Meadows fought back from a 3-0 deficit heading into the third period. After a goal at the mid-way mark, the Barracudas scored two goals in the final minute, the latter coming with three seconds left. Johnson scored the eventual shoot-out winner, as well as the team’s first marker. Megan Bourguignon scored twice in regulation and was named MVP.
