The first-place Maple Ridge Burrards got back in the win column on Sunday with a 9-8 decision over the Coquitlam Adanacs.

The first-place Maple Ridge Burrards got back in the win column on Sunday with a 9-8 decision over the Coquitlam Adanacs.

The game was knotted 8-8 with seven minutes left to play, when Ben McIntosh got the game-winner.

It was his fourth goal and fifth point of the game, and the sniper has 10 points in just two contests this year.

Connor Goodwin also had five points, a goal and four assists, for Ridge.

Luke Gillespie continued his fine play with his hometown team, with two goals and an assist. He now has 17 goals in nine games, the second highest total in the Western Lacrosse Association.

Jarrett Davis added a goal and two assists for the Burrards.

Pitt Meadows product Mike Mallory is second in league scoring with 35 points –  15 goals and 20 assists. He had a goal and an assist on Sunday.

Frank Scigliano got his league-leading fifth win in net.

The Burrards are atop the Western Lacrosse Association standings with a record of 6-2-1.

The Burnaby Lakers, who have a record of 3-3, will be at Planet Ice this Sunday, at 6:45 p.m.
