Burrards end three-game skid

The Maple Ridge Burrards halted a three-game losing streak Tuesday with a 9-6 win over the last-place Adanacs in Coquitlam.

Dan Taylor and Zack Porter both scored twice for Ridge, which outshot Coquitlam 55-41 but went 0-5 on the powerplay.

Mike Tebbett, Mike Mallory, Ryan Johnson, Jeff Cornwall and Mitch Wilde also scored for the Burrards. Riley Loewen had two assists, as did Wilde. Adam Dickson, Tyler Codron, Kevin Reid, Porter and Mallory also had helpers.

Frank Scigliano made 37 saves for the win.

The Burrards had dropped three straight games without leading scorer Curtis Dickson, who is playing with teammate Ben McIntosh for Team Canada at the FIL World Lacrosse Championships in Israel.

The Burrards are now 9-6-1, second in the WLA with two regular season games remaining.

Ridge plays in Victoria on Friday, then wraps up league play Tuesday at Cam Neely Arena against the New Westminster Salmonbellies, 7:30 p.m.
