‘Cudas score big at golf

Golf tournament raises $20,000. Gold Knights down Langley Bears in football action last weekend.

The Barracudas held their second annual golf tournament at Golden Eagle.

The Meadow Ridge Female Minor Hockey Association raised more than $20,000 at its second annual tournament, the ’Cudas Golf Classic.

The event was held Sept. 14 at Golden Eagle Golf Course and was sold out with 150 participants.

It featured  numerous games and entertainment along the course, as well as “Sky Helicopters” taking golfers for rocketing rides over the course.

Much of the money raised was matched by Scotia Bank and will go towards the purchase of needed equipment, jerseys and development ice time for the association’s teams, known as the Barracudas.

Knights blank Bears

The Meadow Ridge  Gold Knights downed the Langley Bears 25-0 in atom football action last weekend.

Kaiden Exner, Axel Statton, and James Launder provided great blocking.

More stellar blocking by Michael Diniz started  the second quarter, and Tyler Sanderson had a kick recovery kick that led to a touchdown.

Daniel Kalinich was a standout for the Knights.

The whole team played well, making it difficult for Langley to score.
