Fiset named to Team B.C.

Flames bench boss will be assistant coach for provincial male U-16 team.

Ridge Meadows Flames Junior B GM/head coach Jamie Fiset has been named to the coaching staff of the provincial male U-16 team

Fiset is the head coach of the Pacific Junior Hockey League’s Flames, and served as Team BC’s goaltending coach during the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George.

He has been involved with the Male High Performance Program for more than 10 years.

BC Hockey announced that Leland Mack of Port Moody has been named the head coach for the squad that will compete at the 2015 Western Branch Challenge Cup.

Joining Mack are director of operations Marty Floris (Vanderhoof), assistant coaches Fiset (Langley) and Eric Blais (Kelowna), video coach Kevin Craig (Victoria) and trainer Brynn Bicknell (Victoria).

The High Performance Program was introduced in 1980 with the mandate to identify and train the province’s elite-level players for high performance hockey events. The objective is to increase the chances of athletes from B.C. competing provincially, nationally and internationally with the ultimate goal being selected to Hockey Canada’s National Junior or National Senior Team.
