Taking one step up, and two steps back, the Ridge Meadows Flames beat the Langley Knights 5-3 on Thursday, but then lost 4-2 to the Richmond Sockeyes on Friday, and 3-2 to the Grandview Steelers on Sunday.

Thursday’s game saw both Brandon Inwood and Bradley Crompton with a goal and two assists each. Danny Wilson Scored twice, and Halen Cordoni had a goal and an assist.

Friday the Flames hosted the Richmond Sockeyes, and lost 4-2 to one of the top teams in the Pacific Junior Hockey League standings.

Cordoni and Jordan Rendle scored the Ridge goals.

The Sockeyes enjoyed a big edge in power plays, and went one-for-six with the man advantage. The Flames had just one power play, and didn’t score.

Sunday at Burnaby Winter Club, the Flames outshot the Steelers 28-22, but couldn’t get a win – their power play couldn’t score in eight attempts.

Andrew Stelezki and Christopher Chen scored for Maple Ridge.

With a record of 10-18, the Flames are still behind Mission in the standings, and outside of one of the four playoff spots in the five-team conference.

The Flames annual Teddy Bear Toss will take place this Friday, during the game against the Mission City Outlaws.

All fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal or new packaged toy, to be thrown onto the ice when the Flames score their first goal of the game.

The teddy bears will be collected and donated to the Ridge Meadows Christmas Hamper Society, and will become Christmas gifts for local children in need.

• The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. at Planet Ice.
