Fraser Valley takes B.C. Cup

Team Fraser Valley defeated Team Greater Vancouver 4-1 in the Championship match-up at the Female U-16 B.C. Cup in 100 mile house on Sunday. Team Fraser Valley includes goaltender Samantha Shaw of the Meadow Ridge Barracudas.

Fraser Valley lost 9-2 to Greater Vancouver in their opening game of the tournament, but were able to rally and go undefeated the rest of the way.

Fraser Valley beat Okanagan, the reigning B.C. Cup champions, in their second game of the tournament 7-5, before edging Kootenay 4-2.

Team Okanagan defeated Team Vancouver Island 4-1 in the bronze medal game.
