Terry Gregory’s rink grabbed a share of first place in Haney Masters’ Curling League with a solid victory over Ron Laxdal’s rink last Wednesday. Gregory, along with Hilly Boonstra, Walter Vesa and Peter England ran their record to 5-1 to move into a tie with Jack Stadel (5-2) and Wayne Chin (5-2) as the Fall Competition reached the halfway mark.

Chin’s rink, consisting of Mike Murgatroyd (third), Roger Fast (second) and Dwight Schneider (lead) had a great opportunity to move into sole possession of first place but suffered a narrow 7-6 loss to Peter Koehler’s rink. Chin tried to come back from a 7-5 deficit in the final end but his final shot came up short as his rink suffered only their second loss of the season.

Meanwhile, led by third Bob MacKay, second Bob Cocking and Don Svelander at lead, Stadel quietly kept a share of the lead with an easy victory over Bill Gardner’s rink.
