The Terry Gregory rink blasted out of the starting blocks to overwhelm previously undefeated Peter Koehler 10-4 in Haney Masters’ curling action.

Gregory, along with third William Menkveld, second Reg Nelligan and lead Bruce Festing, jumped into a 3-0 lead in the first end and extended it to 9-0 as they propelled their way to a dominant  win and sole possession of first place in the 20-team race.

In other action, Eric Holler’s last-place rink of Renato Camporese, Jack Flottorp and Terry Lajeunesse upset Bill McDowell’s fourth-place team by a resounding 8-2 margin. McDowell’s rink of Wayne Leech (third), Svend Neilsen (second) and Les Hall (lead) struggled throughout in incurring only their second loss of the season.

Ron Laxdal with Ed Belsey, Ole Hensrud and Keith Thompson engineered another upset defeating Gregg Hook 7-4.
