Peter Koehler’s rink took over sole possession of first place in Haney Masters’ Curling action with a hard-fought 6-4 win over Bill McDowell at Golden Ears Curling Club Wednesday.

With both rinks tied for the league lead, Koehler along with regulars William Menkveld and Chris English took a narrow 5-4 lead into the last end and added a single point to ensure the victory.   The loss was the first for the McDowell rink of Clifford Wells (third), Svend Neilsen (second) and Roland Hill (lead) which with the loss dropped their record to 6-1 while
