Two Maple Ridge teams will be in the hunt for provincial titles as the BC School Sports Boys Basketball Championships tip off at the Langley Events Centre on Wednesday.

First up will be the Samuel Robertson Technical Titans, who start the tournament at 8:30 a.m. on opening day, looking for an upset against the top seeded 2A team, the King George Dragons of Vancouver.

The Meadowridge Gryphons are in the 1A tournament, as the seventh seed, and their first game on Wednesday will be at 7 p.m. against 10-ranked Barriere. It will be the first trip to the provincials for the Meadowridge basketball program, who finished the season as the Fraser North champions.
