Both current and previous Ridge Meadows Swim Club (RMSC) members will now be heading to Halifax this summer as they’ve been selected to compete in the 2023 North American Indigenous Games.

RMSC head coach Sarah Rudolf said that in addition to the club’s own Kirin Bullock being chosen, former Maple Ridge members Isabella Seneviratne and Preston Seneviratne will also be competing in the July tournament.

“It is pretty exciting for these three swimmers,” said Rudolf.

Bullock recently competed at the RMSC Spring Invitational, where he scored a 200m freestyle time that makes him the 16th-fastest 13-year-old swimmer in Canada.

Although Isabella and Preston now swim with the Surrey Knights Swim Club, the two had both previously been a part of the local swim club, with Preston still holding several club records in the 10 and younger category, while Isabella has more than 25 records in multiple age groups.

All three swimmers will be part of Team BC in the North American Indigenous Games, which will run from July 15 to 23 in Halifax, N.S.
