Golden Ears All Blacks U-12 girls' soccer team was undefeated at last weekend's tournament

The Golden Ears All Blacks U-12 girls’ soccer team took home the Mayors’ Cup last weekend in Surrey, after going undefeated at the tournament.

The local Select Division team opened the tourney with a 1-0 win over Victoria’s Gorge Soccer Association, before beating Guildford 1-0.

On Sunday, the All Blacks beat Kamloops 4-2 to advance to the tournament final, where they beat Port Coquitlam 2-1 in dramatic fashion, winning the Mayors’ Cup in a shootout.

The All Blacks are Nadine Burdett, Shaylene Hardy, Shauna Graveson, Jamie Walker, Kristine Nosek, Caleigh Peden, Mackenzie Ringrose, Maiya Pena, Maya Spindel-Wood, Sevannah Swatske, Chloe Rathjen, Hayley Williams, and Hannah Reid.

The team is coached by Rich Burdett and Steve Pena, and will be combining with Pitt Meadows’ U-12 select team to form a Metro team next season under the newly formed West Coast Auto Group FC banner.

“We’re very proud of the girls strong effort and determination in their final games together,” said Pena.
