The Meadow Ridge Knights midget football team defeated North Surrey 22-17 on the road Sunday afternoon for their fifth straight win.

The win improves the Knights’ record to 7-2 and puts them in a three-way tie for second place in the B.C. midget league.

The midget Knights play their last regular season game of the season this Saturday at home at Samuel Robertson Technical Secondary School, as they host 4-5 Vancouver.

The Meadow Ridge peewee Gold Knights recorded their seventh shutout win of the season, defeating the North Langley Bears 26-0 at home Thursday night.

Blake Alford returned an interception 85 yards for a touchdown, while Cole Leon and Anthony Tulev pressured the Bears quarterback relentlessly, resulting in rushed passes and multiple sacks. On offence, Sean Combs scored two touchdowns on a pair of long runs. Quarterback Dryden Pollon tossed a touchdown pass to Daruis Joseph.

The win improves the Gold Knights to 7-2 this season, good for second place in the Valley Community Footbal League with one game remaining in the regular season.

The peewee Blue Knights beat the Chilliwack Blue Giants 25-6 on Thursday to improve to 6-3 this season.

The atom Knights finished their season with a 25-12 win over Chilliwack. Defensive linemen Trevor Carnegie and Kody Davey teamed up with Levi Spencer-Fell and Angelo Chalmers, forcing the Giant’s ball carriers to earn every yard. Tight-ends Jaxon Smart and Jacob Brass each earned some hard yards along the sidelines that kept the Knights’ offense moving for the win.

The Knights finish the regular season with a 6-2 record.

The junior bantam Knights missed out on their chance to see the postseason with a 12-9 loss to the Chilliwack Blue Giants. Chilliwack scored the first touchdown but missed their conversion. The Knights got on the board with a touchdown of their own from Tim Janke who caught a pass from quarterback Mark Podshadly.  Jake Loftus then kicked a conversion to bring the score to 8–6 for the Knights.  A Chilliwack field goal and a Meadow Ridge rouge tied the game at 9-9, before the Blue Giants kicked their second three-pointer of the game to take the win.

The bantam Knights lost 35-0 to the Abbotsford Falcon on Saturday, and play Langley in their last game of the season.
