Local mixed martial arts phenom Belle Gagnon has done it again.

The 11-year-old from Maple Ridge is training to represent Canada in Ireland in August, after she took home another gold medal and a silver from the Can-Am International Championships last weekend at the Richmond Oval.

She landed the silver medal after moving up to a heavier weight class because there wasn’t enough fighters in her weight class in Pankration (MMA), in which she fights in the 68-77 lbs. class. She fought much bigger opponents, with the bronze medal winner weighing in at 101lbs.

In the Brazilian Jujitsu competition she dispatched her opponents with ease, and went undefeated against both girls and boys.
