Pitt golfer 4th at B.C. Mid-Amateur

Pitt Meadows’ Greg Bismeyer finished three over-par at the 2012 B.C. Golf Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship last week

Pitt Meadows’ Greg Bismeyer fired rounds of 74, 70, and 75 to finish three over-par at the 2012 B.C. Golf Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship last week, good enough for a share of fourth place, and second in the Master-40 Division

Bismeyer found himself tied with Courtenay’s Greg Koster after Koster birdied his last hole to finish the final day of play with a round of 76, forcing the two into a playoff to decide the Master-40 Division champion.

Both players headed back to the par 5 18th hole at the Summerland Golf and Country club for the playoff. Unfortunately, Bismeyer hit his first tee shot out-of-bounds, while Koster got on the green in regulation. A two-putt par sealed the victory as Bismeyer was not able to save par.

Kevin Carrigan of Victoria was the overall champion at the event with a final round 71 to finish up four under-par after 54 holes.
