The Maple Ridge Ramblers senior boys basketball team punched its ticket to the provincial tournament with a 76-64 win over the Delta Pacers on Thursday night at the Fraser Valley Championship.

The Ramblers will now play for third place, in a rematch with the Brookswood Bobcats on Friday night, at 6 p.m. at Guildford Park secondary.

The Bobcats beat the Ramblers 67-60 last week in the zone playdowns.

Ridge subsequently advanced to the Fraser Valley final four by winning four straight, beating crosstown rival Thomas Haney Thunder 83-61, the MEI Eagles of Abbotsford 73-70, the Abbotsford Panthers 78-75 in overtime, and then Delta last night.

Abbotsford schools Robert Bateman and Rick Hansen will play for first and second tonight.

The 3A provincial tournament will be held at the Langley Events Centre on March 8-11.
