With five games to play, and being 11 points out of a playoff spot, the Ridge Meadows Flames have been mathematically knocked out of the Pacific Junior Hockey League playoffs.

Four teams advance in the Harold Brittain Conference, and the Flames sit in fifth place with a record of 13-24-0-2.

They had two overtime games over the weekend, with mixed results.

On Saturday they beat the Port Moody Panthers 4-3 in overtime, and on Friday lost 4-3 in overtime to the Aldergrove Kodiaks.

Against the Panthers, Nicholas Maydaniuk scored twice, Boston Colley had a goal and an assist, Jordan Rendle had two assists and Danny Wilson also scored.

Against the Kodiaks, scorers were Wilson, Colley and Brandon Inwood.

With five games left to play in the season, the Flames host the Grandview Steelers on Friday night at Planet Ice. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
