The Ridge Meadows Burrards under-15 women’s field lacrosse team won the B.C. Lacrosse Association’s provincial championship last weekend at Willoughby Park Complex in Langley.

Megan Kinna was selected as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player in the division, and Daniela Carey was one of six players to win a Fair Play Award.

They beat Port Coquitlam 12-3 in the final game, and posted three other convincing wins: 14-5 over Coquitlam, 13-4 against Langley, and 7-1 over New Westminster.

The 10-team event also featured an under-12 division, and while the Burrards did not place in the medals, their coach Chris Gill won the coaches fair play award, Rianna Arce won a player fair play award, and the team won the sportsmanship award.
