Michelle MacKay of Pitt Meadows came fourth in the women’s 1,500-metre event at the national short track speed skating junior championships in Calgary on the weekend.
She also came fourth in women;s super 1,500m.
From the junior nationals, Canada will send four men and four women to World Junior Championship in Melborne, Australia, Feb. 24-26.
Pitt wins football opener
The Pitt Meadows Marauders opened the AA varsity high school football regular season Friday with a 7-0 win over Abbotsford.
Meanwhile, The SRT Titans fell 22-0 to the Holy Cross Crusaders.
The Titans host the Marauders on Friday, 7:30 p.m.
