Junior golfers from Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows placed among the Top 10 in their respective divisions at the CJGA Western Junior Championships, March 17-19 at Northview Golf and Country Club in Surrey.
In the junior boys’ under-19 division, Isaac DH Lee of Pitt Meadows finished second, shooting par 72, then 68 to finish at 140, five strokes behind the leader, Tony Gil of Ontario.
Esther Subin Lee of Pitt Meadows tied for seventh in the junior girls’ division after rounds of 76 and 73, finishing at five over on the par 72 course, 11 shots behind the leader, Hannah Lee of Surrey.
Moose third
The Meadow Ridge Moose finished third in the South Coast Female Hockey League playoffs, defeating the Fraser Valley Jets 3-1 Sunday in Langley.
The Moose fell 3-2 in overtime earlier that day to South Fraser TNT, which later downed the Kamloops Vibe 4-3 to win its second straight league championship.
The Moose tied Richmond 2-2 Thursday, then downed the Island Surge 8-1 Friday to finish atop the B pool.
