Garibaldi and Samuel Robertson Technical secondary slogged it out in the rain Wednesday during a senior girls AA soccer game on SRT home turf.

Despite the weather, the teams were evenly matched and SRT managed to pull out a 3-2 win over Garibaldi.

Garibaldi coach Jeremy Brown was pleased with his team’s effort.

“We were a little bit short handed on numbers today.

“But the girls put in a good effort. It was a miserable day. Freezing cold. And they worked hard today. They were two goals down and they got back to 2-2. I’m quite happy with their effort.”

Garibaldi’s two goal scorers were Maddie Stroup  and Rachel Carr. However, Chelsea Herron played especially hard.

Mike Keenan, principal and coach of SRT, was thrilled.

All three of SRT’s goals were scored by Allison Bain.
