Team Shock earns B.C. ringette silver

The Shock trailed by four early in the final, and despite a valiant comeback attempt, fell 6-4 to Prince George and took silver.

Team Shock of the Port Coquitlam-Ridge Meadows Ringette Association took silver at the provincial B championships, March 11-13 in North Vancouver.

“The tournament was hard fought by all teams and was a great end to an amazing season,” said head coach Roy Savage.

Team Shock opened with a 1-0 win over Delta, followed by a tough 4-2 loss to Prince George.

The girls came back fighting and next pulled off a 2-0 win against Delta, then batted Prince George again to a 6-6 draw.

“The team really came together and focused on a common goal, which led to some of our best played games this season,” Savage said. “I am very proud to have coached such a great group of kids and to have had the chance to watch them all grow as athletes.”
