It wasn't how the Terry Fox Ravens beat the Pitt Meadows Marauders on Thursday. Rather, it was how by many.

It wasn't how the Terry Fox Ravens beat the Pitt Meadows Marauders on Thursday. Rather, it was by how many.

The No. 5-ranked Ravens raced to a 31-16 halftime lead and soared to a galactic 66-30 triumph over the No. 2 Marauders in what was originally expected to be a quarter-final nail-biter at the B.C. AAA senior boys high school basketball championships at Langley Events Centre.

The victory advanced the Ravens into tonight's (Friday's) semifinals versus the No. 10 White Rock Chrisitan Warriors, 8 p.m.

The No. 4 Vancouver College Fighting Irish knocked off the No. 1 Kelowna Owls 78-76 in what was a true toe-to-toe slugfest to move into tonight's other semi versus the No. 6 Walnut Grove Gators of Langley, 6 p.m. The Gators advanced by bumping off the honourable-mention W.J. Mouat Hawks 74-57 and White Rock Christian handled Surrey's Tamanawis Wildcats 75-65, leaving the top three seeded squads –– the Owls, Pitt and Vancouver's St. George's Saints –– out of the championship mix.

Six-foot-seven Ryan Sclater led the Ravens in scoring for the second straight game with 21, after netting 22 in their tournament-opening win Wednesday over Victoria's Oak Bay Bays.

Jesse Crookes was the only other Raven to score double digits with 11, as 10 Fox players made the scoresheet. Alex Nesterenko added eight points for the winners, who got 11 rebounds each from Sclater and Trevor Casey.

Trevor Severinski, with 16, scored more the half of the Marauders' total points as listless Pitt was out-scored 22-7 in the third quarter alone by the eager Ravens.
