VIDEO: Abbotsford Pilots on the brink of elimination to Ridge Meadows Flames

Flames post a dramatic 6-5 overtime win to take 3-1 series lead on Friday in Abbotsford

The Abbotsford Pilots officially have their backs against the wall tonight in Maple Ridge.

The Pacific Junior Hockey League now trails the best-of-seven Harold Brittain conference series 3-1 after a 6-5 overtime loss to the Ridge Meadows Flames in Abbotsford on Friday night.

The back and forth game saw the two teams trade leads throughout, with the Flames going up 5-4 after a power play goal at 13:21. The Pilots managed to send the game to overtime with just 13 seconds left when Jacob De Waal tied the game up.

But the Flames ended the game at 2:40 of the extra frame to take a 3-1 series lead. Ryan Wellburn scored his second of the game to send the Flames home happy.

Abbotsford got goals from Alexander Methorst, De Waal (two), Matthew Dyck and Baylee Wright.

Ridge Meadows scorers included: Andrew Strelezki (two), Wellburn (two) Brett Didyk and Ryley Lanthier.

The Pilots previously won game three 6-4 in Maple Ridge on Wednesday.

Game five occurs tonight (Saturday) at Planet Ice in Maple Ridge. Face off is set for 7:30 p.m.
