There will be plenty of family-friendly Easter events to hop around to this long weekend in both Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.

Maple Ridge

Easter at the farm – All kinds of Easter-themed fun can be found at Meadows Family Farm from Friday to Monday. In addition to all-day egg hunts, there will also be colouring stations, games, face painting, petting zoos, a zipline, jumping pillow, bouncy castles, Easter Bunny photo areas, a maze, a train ride, and more. Tickets and more information available at meadows-family-farm.tickit.ca.

Hammond Park egg hunt – Open Door Church will be hosting its annual Easter egg hunt at Hammond Park on Saturday for children 12 and younger. Families can come down for free and try to find some of the thousands of candy-filled eggs that will be hidden throughout the park. Kids four years old or younger will start the egg hunt at 10:20 a.m., with five- to eight-year-olds starting at 10:40 a.m., and those between nine and 12 starting at 11 a.m.

Research forest egg hunt – The first-ever egg hunt in the UBC Malcolm Knapp Research Forest will be hosted by Wild and Immersive on Saturday, with kids and adults alike invited to come down to the free event. More than 100 colourful Easter eggs will be scattered throughout the arboretum, with prizes given out to those who manage to find some. No registration is needed for this event, which takes place from 10 a.m. to noon at 14500 Silver Valley Rd.

Maple Ridge Park egg hunt – Countrywide Real Estate Group is inviting the public to come check out their free egg hunt on Sunday, which will be hosted at Maple Ridge Park. In addition to hunting for colourful eggs, children will also get to listen to music and see the Easter Bunny hopping around the event. The egg hunt begins at 11 a.m.

Vegan egg hunt – A vegan-friendly Easter egg hunt will be taking over Meadowridge School on Sunday, which will include a huge amount of vegan-friendly candy. Up to 200 children will be running around the schoolyard looking for tasty treats and waiting to get their photo taken with the Easter Bunny, with photo proceeds going to P.E.A.C.E. Farm Sanctuary. The event starts at 11 a.m., with tickets and more information available at littlevegantreats.com until March 27.

Whonnock egg hunt – The Whonnock Community Association will be bringing back their annual egg hunt, with kids invited to come down to the Whonnock Lake Centre on Sunday to participate in the 11 a.m. event. An Easter Bunny will also be present to add an extra layer of fun to the event.

Pitt Meadows

Easter FUNday – Harris Road Park and Heritage Hall will be transformed into an Easter wonderland on Sunday as the city hosts its annual all-ages event. Families can register for one of three time slots (9:30 to 11 a.m., 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 12:30 to 2 p.m.), which will give them time to roam the areas and enjoy the self-guided egg hunt, crafts, face painting, and more. Egg baskets are not supplied, so attendees are encouraged to bring their own basket or bag big enough to hold six eggs, which can then be exchanged for a goodie bag at the egg-change station. Register for the free event by visiting the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre by March 30.
