Things were hopping at Haney Place Mall on Saturday as hundreds of people flocked to the venue to experience the free Easter event put on by the mall.
The three-hour event had a variety of entertainment for the kids, including face painting, crafts, Easter egg decorating, tasty treats, and much more.
Kids even had the chance to frolic through the mall with their baskets or bags in hand to collect Easter eggs from several of the businesses in the mall as part of the scavenger hunt, which gave everyone who completed their card a chance to win a gift card prize pack worth $150.

According to one of the mall’s event coordinators, a major addition to the Easter celebration this year was a caricature artist who had long lineups of people excited to be drawn from start to finish.
Another attraction that had kids lining up was the Easter Bunny photo area, where kids of all ages could get a chocolate egg from the bunny’s basket and then capture the moment with a photo.

Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association executive director Flori Chaykowski, who was one of several local organization leaders to attend the event, said that the mall was packed with people nearly every minute of the event.
This was the first of several free Easter events in Maple Ridge, with many more planned for this weekend.
