Artists are gearing up for the Mother’s Day weekend and the 24th annual Art Studio Tour, which promises to be larger than ever.
More than 100 local and visiting artists will be taking part this years event, at 27 different locations across Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.
“We have such a wide range of talented artists on our roster. I’m so excited that ten new artists join our hundred plus tour artists this year,” said Tracy Quinsey, chairperson of the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Art Studio Tour Society, a non-profit, volunteer-based organization started in 1998 to connect artists and the community.
The tour is meant to offer insight and a better understanding and appreciation for visual arts in the community. It is self guided and winds through both urban and rural landscapes with beautiful views of the Golden Ears Mountains.
Artists of a variety of mediums will be taking part, some even demonstrating what their process is like at their home studios.
