Banners to mark city centennial

Pitt Meadows residents come up with eye catching designs to decorate streets

Four Pitt Meadows residents will see their art work go up along Harris Road.

Brad Dinwoodie, Kennedy Richard, Maia Richard, and Georgina Cadieux designed banners to mark the city’s centennial. The winners were chosen via votes on the city’s Facebook page.

The winning banners will be hung up just in time for the city’s 100th anniversary celebrations.

Take part in an Easter parade in Opsrey Village on Easter Sunday, April 20. Wear an Easter bonnet or a 19th century costume to win a prize. Register at 604-465-3022.

A community “Birthday Party” and heritage fair will kick start the festivities Friday, April 25. The a day-long event will feature free carnival games, interactive displays and exhibits and entertainment. On Saturday, April 26, don your 19th century costumes and attend  the Gala of the Century at Meadow Gardens Golf Club. Tickets are $100 and still available online or at city hall.
