Experience the Fraser (ETF) is a unique vision to connect communities

Take a break from your Easter egg hunt, and get down to Kanaka Creek Regional Park Monday at 11 a.m.

The provincial government is set for a funding announcement for the Experience the Fraser project that proposed to put multi-use trails on both sides of the Fraser River from Hope to Vancouver.

A pilot project has already created a multi-use trail from Fort Langley to Golden Ears Bridge creating a connection to the north side of the Fraser.

Maple Ridge Mayor Ernie Daykin wasn’t sure of the details of the announcement that will take place in the river front area of the park, just south of Lougheed Highway and east of the Haney Bypass.

Maple Ridge asked previously TransLink not to sell the Albion ferry land, when the service terminated in July 2009.

Metro Vancouver board chair Greg Moore and Fraser Valley Regional District chair Sharon Gaetz also will be at announcement.
