Tickets are on sale for this years Show of Styles, Kids With Smiles, a fundraiser for B.C. Children’s Hospital.

The fashion show will feature models aged three to 18 years old who are past and present patients of the hospital, including Maple Ridge’s Casey Wright.

Organizer Carrisa Dean is looking for clothing sponsors in addition to donations and volunteers.

In previous years, Sears has been the clothing sponsor, but this year Dean would like to include more business from around the Lower Mainland.

Dean started the show in 2011, when she was in her Grade 10 year at Pitt Meadows secondary. She had spent 15 years of her life in and out of the hospital, being treated for thoracolumbar scoliosis, a curvature of the vertebrae of the spine.

She wanted to give back.

To date, she has raised over $15,000 for B.C. Children’s Hospital. Her goal this year is $10,000.

She is also looking for local businesses to donate to the gift bags that will be handed out to the models.

“We want more for them to take away from the night,” said Dean. “Just to spoil them even more and their families for everything that they’ve gone through and the strength that they have.”

The children will also receive photographs of themselves in a memory book.

Tickets went on sale March 1 and are $20 each. There are 150 to 180 tickets available.

The event will be held on May 28 at The Hilton Vancouver Metrotown.
